Fairfax Radiology Consultants (FRC) is proud to announce that Dr. J. Cullen Ruff was named a Fellow of the American College of Radiology (ACR) in May 2019. Distinguished board-certified radiologists, such as Dr. Ruff, are the reason that many of the region’s top physicians choose Fairfax Radiology for their patients and themselves.
This award distinguishes ACR members who have demonstrated service, meaningfully advanced research, made significant contributions to literature or provided outstanding work as a teacher of radiology. Only 10% of ACR members have been awarded this honor. Dr. Ruff joins fewer than a hundred new Fellows within the fields of diagnostic and interventional radiology, radiation oncology, medical physics and nuclear medicine.
Dr. Ruff has practiced at FRC for two decades. He also serves as an associate professor at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) School of Medicine, where he has been recognized as a VCU Distinguished Mentor.
Dr. Ruff recently authored a guest article on the XRAYVSN blog about the risks of patients unnecessarily delaying treatment. Dr. Ruff has also written for KevinMD about the confusion surrounding iodine allergies.
Additionally, Dr. Ruff is the author of an upcoming book entitled Looking Within, which contains stories about human imaging. His book is expected to be released in January 2020.
