Fairfax Radiology Welcomes Radiologist Dr. Robert Shih

Fairfax, VA - June 12, 2024 - Fairfax Radiology is proud to announce the addition of Dr. Robert Shih, a highly accomplished radiologist with extensive expertise in neuroradiology, to our team. Dr. Shih joins us following a career in the United States Army and academic contributions at the Uniformed Services University.

Dr. Shih is a Colonel in the Medical Corps of the U.S. Army and has served as the Assistant Associate Professor and Vice Chair of the Department of Radiology at the Uniformed Services University in Bethesda, MD. He was the Chief of Neuroradiology and MRI at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and the President of the Faculty Senate at the Uniformed Services University.

Dr. Shih's impressive educational background includes a Neuroradiology Fellowship and Clinical Instructor role at UCSF, a Radiology Residency at Tripler Army Medical Center, and an MD from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. He also holds a BA in Biochemical Sciences from Harvard University.

Throughout his career, Dr. Shih has been recognized with numerous awards for his excellence in teaching and clinical practice, including multiple Teacher-of-the-Year awards and the Army Surgeon General’s “A” Proficiency Designator. His contributions to research are notable, with numerous peer-reviewed publications and significant grant-funded projects in the field of neuroradiology.
